LA GRANDE MAIN STREET RE-LAUNCHES NEW RESOURCE CONNECTION SERIES FOR BUSINESSES

La Grande, ORE., August 2022 – After a somewhat quiet initial launch, La Grande Main Street Downtown (Main Street) is re-launching its monthly networking series to connect local business owners to critical resources throughout the area and region. As summer settles down, Main Street is ready to dive in full-force with new programs and projects!

In order to best serve and meet the needs of these business owners, the series, Business-Resource Connection, will be held monthly on the third Tuesday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m., hosted at the Ignite Center, 104 Depot Street. Light refreshments and coffee will be provided for attendees.

“One of the goals of re-launching this series with adjustments to the time and format is to highlight the wide range of resources we have locally which businesses can leverage to really elevate their performance, while trying to be accessible to the widest audience possible,” said Timothy Bishop, the City of La Grande’s Economic Development Director and committee chair of the Economic Vitality Committee.

The Economic Vitality Committee, one of the four pillar committees of the organization, is leading the charge for organizing this series. Each month, a different organization will present on a wide variety of topics to help businesses develop a better understanding of and connection to the wealth of resources available to them locally. Business-Resource Connection is also receiving some funds from the City of La Grande’s Rural Development Initiatives grant to support the promotion of the series.

“Businesses are increasingly looking to expand their access to resources to maintain optimal performance and function, but need to do so strategically,” according to project chairperson Suzannah Moore-Hemann. “This series provides businesses the opportunity to develop new contacts and relationships, while developing a better

understanding of the resources available to leverage.”
